Printing class rosters in PowerTeacher

by Chad Waters on November 18, 2009

Several teachers have asked how they can print a class roster to keep a hard copy of grades similar to what is  available in Intergrade. I have found a way to print one that is really simple and, I believe, to be better in only nine easy steps!. Here goes:

  1. Select the class you want a roster for.
  2. Click the Reports Icon.
  3. Select Attendance Grid from the list.
  4. Under Sections, choose Active Class
  5. Under Students, select Active Students
  6. Under Student Field, select Student Name
  7. Finally, you will check the box No Dates. Click in the box and it will open up additional options.
  8. Now, select how many assignments (it will say Days) from the box to your left. I like to choose 25 because it is better to have too many slots instead of not enough unless you know how many assignments you will have then you can choose that number.
  9. If you only want to print the report and not save it then click the Run Report button at the bottom of the screen. A window allowing you to preview the report in the PDF format will open for you to print (or save).  If you would like to save the report for later use then choose Save Report and you can save the file for later use.

This is an easy way to back up your grades in case our wonderful technology ever decides to let us down! Its really an attendance chart but I find that it works well for grades too!
